The adulterous affair between the leader of the Irish Party in Westminester, Charles Stuart Parnell, and Katherine O'Shea, a married woman, shocked Ireland in 1890 and put a sudden end to his great career. OÌ Pharnell Go Queenie, or Parnell to Queenie, is a collection of love poems written by Irish-language poet Ó Snodaigh, who tries to fathom the relationship between this important political figure and the lover he affectinately addressed as Queenie in his letters.
