The residency is open to all writers of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, screenplays and dramatic prose. There are no nationality restrictions, however, applicants should be over 21 years old at the time of application and be writing in English. Unpublished authors and past applicants are also eligible.
Remaining in Residence: It is expected that the fellow remain in residence throughout the fellowship. Fellows must notify M Residency staff at the earliest opportunity if they expect to leave the residency for a period of more than one week. The residency is not a basis from which to travel.
Participation in Community Events: The M Literary Residency aims to encourage interaction between talented writers and local communities and to foster an interest in writing in their host countries. The successful candidate will be asked to participate in one or two events within the local community during their stay.
