Irish poet Eileán Ní Chuilleanáin learned Romanian so that she could translate the poems of Ileana Malancioiu. The result is The Legend of the Walled-up Wife, a book of uncommon empathy which includes newer poems from two recent enlarged collections spanning the Romanian poet's whole career.
