Scothscéalta means 'Choice (or Best) Stories' and this book contains ten short stories written by Pádraic Ó Conaire and gathered by Dr Tomás de Bhaldraithe. The stories in the collection challenge preconceptions of rural Ireland as well as stereotypical representations of the little man and of women, highlighting instead surprising and universal truths.
