Writing under the pseudonym M. J. Farrell, Molly Keane published Full House decades before her remarkable comback in 1981 with the Booker Prize-nominated novel Good Behaviour. As in her most famous work, she explores mother-daughter relationships in the setting of the Irish Big House. Silverue is owned by one of the most frightening mothers in fiction - the indomitable, oppressively girlish Lady Olivia Bird.
