This anthology encompasses the wide spectrum of twentieth-century Irish poetry in English and Irish and includes the works of roughly 100 Irish poets, a good number of whom have been translated into French for the first time. Writers born between 1845 and 1956 are represented with almost 400 poems, while most poets born after 1950 are also included. The result is an impressive testimony to a tradition as rich as it is alive.
