Siobhán Parkinson
Born in Dublin, Siobhán Parkinson grew up in Galway and Donegal. She holds a doctorate in English literature from Trinity College, Dublin, and has worked for many years as an editor. Parkinson is currently the co-editor of Inis, the Children's Books Ireland Magazine. Her books for children and young adults have won numerous awards and have been translated into many languages. They include: Sisters ... No Way!, The Moond King, The Love Bean, Kate, Breaking the Wishbone, Amelia and Cows Are Vegetarians. Books that have appeared in the Puffin imprint are Second Fiddle, Something Invisible, which won a BISTO Honour Award in 2007, and Blue Like Friday. In 2010, Siobhán was named Laureate na nÓg, Ireland's first children's laureate. Siobhán Parkinson lives in Dublin.
