Ruth Gilligan

Ruth Gilligan is an Irish novelist, journalist, and academic now based in the UK. She has published four novels to date, and was the youngest person ever to reach number one on the Irish Bestseller's List. She holds degrees from Cambridge, Yale, UEA and Exeter, and now works as a Lecturer of Creative Writing at the University of Birmingham. She writes regular literary reviews for the TLS, Guardian, LA Review of Books, and the Irish Indpendent where was a columnist for a number of years. She is also an ambassador for the international storytelling charity, Narrative 4. She lives in Highbury with her husband.
