Robert McLiam Wilson
Robert McLiam Wilson was born in Belfast and studied at Cambridge University. His novels include Ripley Bogle (1989), Manfred's Pain (1992) and Eureka Street (1996). He won the 1989 Rooney Prize for Irish Literature with his début novel, as well as the Hughes Prize, the Betty Trask Prize and the 1990 Irish Book Award. Eureka Street was adaptated for television by the BBC in 1999. Together with Donovan Wylie, Wilson has also written a non-fiction book about poverty in the UK, The Dispossessed (1992). He has made several television documentaries for the BBC.
