Paul Carson
1949 -
Paul Carson is the author of international bestsellers Scalpel (1997), Cold Steel (1998), Final Duty (2000), Ambush (2003), and Betrayal (2005).
He grew up in Newcastle, a seaside town on the east coast of Northern Ireland. He studied medicine in Trinity College Dublin and moved to Australia after his graduation. In 1984 he returned to Ireland to establish his own practice, a specialised clinic dealing with allergy problems in children. He now lives in south Dublin with his wife and two children.
From 1984 to 1996 Paul wrote numerous articles of medical interest for journals, newspapers and magazines in Ireland and the UK. He published five health books and two children’s novels and was a regular commentator on health and social issues on Irish radio and television. His first thriller, Scalpel, became an immediate Irish Times bestseller. Paul’s novels have been translated into over a dozen languages.
