Michael Scott

Born in Dublin, Michael Scott's fascination with Irish myhtology derived from his work as a rare books dealer. His first three collections of Irish Myths and Legends, published between 1983 and 1984, testify to this and have become authorotative texts in this field. More than one hundred titles of fantasy, science fiction and folklore writing for young adults and adults followed. Scott's current book, The Alchemyst (2007), is the first of a ground-breaking six part epic fantasy and has become a New York Times bestseller. Film rights to the entire series have been optioned and translation rights have been sold into 30 countries.
