Mary O'Donnell

Mary O’Donnell is the author of eleven books, both poetry and fiction, and has also co-edited a book of translations from the Galician. Her works include the novels The Light-Makers (1992), Virgin and the Boy (1996) and The Elysium Testament (1999), as well as poetry such as The Place of Miracles (2005), Unlegendary Heroes (1998), and her most recent critically acclaimed sixth collection The Ark Builders (2009). She has been a teacher and has worked intermittently in journalism, especially theatre criticism. Today, she teaches creative writing in a part time capacity at the National University of Ireland, Maynooth. She is a member of Aosdána and lives near Straffan, County Kildare.
