Marina Carr
Marina Carr grew up in County Offaly and graduated from University College Dublin with a degree in English and Philosophy. Her plays to date include: Ariel, By the Bog of Cats, Low in the Dark, Meat and Salt, on Raftery's Hill, Portia Coughlan, The Mai, This Love Thing, Ullaloo and Woman and Scarecrow. A first collection of her plays was published by Faber & Faber in 1999. Marina Carr has been Writer-in-Residence at the Abbey Theatre and Trinity College, Dublin, and is a member of Aosdána. She has won many awards for her work, including the E. M. Forster Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters.
