Leena Parkinnen
Leena Parkkinen is a Finnish writer. Her first novel, After you, Max, was published in 2009 and won the Helsingin Sanomat Literature Prize. It tells the story of Siamese twins who travel around Europe as circus artists.
Parkkinen studied graphic design as well as screenwriting and advertising at the Turku Arts Academy. She later also studied creative writing at the Critical Academy. With her first children's book, Cow Belle Beauty Queen (or Miss Milky Ray in Finnish), Parkkinen follows in the footsteps of her father, the well-known Finnish children's writer Jukka Parkkinen.
