Desmond Hogan
Desmond Hogan was born in Ballinasloe, Ireland. In 1976, with the publication of 'The Ikon Maker' he was hailed as one of the most promising authors of his generation. But Hogan eludes the mainstream literary scene. As well as the admiration of his peers (Colm Tóibín, Colum McCann and Joyce Carol Oates see him as one of the greatest contemporary Irish writers), four other novels and roughly one hundred short stories stand as a testament to his mysterious and powerful presence in the anglo-saxon literary landscape.
