Bairbre McCarthy

Bairbre McCarthy was born in Co. Clare and moved to the United States in the 1980s where she works as an English, French and Irish teacher. McCarthy has been collecting and telling Irish legends for many years and her performances are ususally accompanied by the musician Frank Orsini, whose background fiddle and harp tunes enhance her storytelling. In 1997, her first book of Irish legends was published as a dual-language book for those learning the Irish language.
