Alan Titley
Born in Cork, Alan Titley attended St Patrick's College, Drumcondra and Universtiy College Dublin where he studied Irish, Philosophy and English. Between 1967 and 1969 he taught in Nigeria and travelled widely in Africa. Titley's play, Tagann Godot, was produced at the Peacock Theatre in 1990, and An Ghráin agus an Ghruaim was produced in 1999. His plays have also been broadcast by the BBC and RTÉ radio. Titley has also published several novels, short story collections and critical works and his book for young people, Amach, won the 2004 Bisto prize. Alan Titley is Professor of Modern Irish in University College, Cork.
